Holding on to that thin thread... Snap!

A relationship is just like a thin thread.
You never know when it might just give up on you and break.
And the so dependent you just falls deep... deep down...

Over the phone, I heard her sobs. My best friend's going through the toughest stage of a relationship. I had sensed in May that there was something wrong, but why did I brush away that thought and assumed that everything was going to be alright for the two of them? I really don't know what that guy wants.

Who was the one who mended her shattered heart that your close friend had very willingly smashed? Who was the one who gave her hope in relationships after that painful separation? You did. And now you're the one backing out and shattering her heart this time round. For whatever reason, you didn't specify. So what exactly do you want? After a year or even more of being together, and you're telling her that you're quitting just because you can't forget this girl in your primary school? I'm sorry but that excuse is way lousy and way off. After 4 years, your mind's still over that girl, even without communicating with her at all? No way am I going to accept those lousy reasons you gave.

Yes I understand that you have O's to handle and I know it's miserable. But she's having eoys in 2 weeks' time and you're giving her all this shit now? Breaking up was what you initiated. But have you spared any thoughts for her feelings at all? And from what I know, it wasn't just once that you mentioned these heart-breaking phrase. Flaring up with no particular reason will not help.

Please prove that you ain't that kind of guy I now think you are.

And, this has set me wondering if I'm ready and if I'm willing to hang onto such a thread yet...
